: Beach cleanup on May 24
Dear volunteers,
Thank you for signing up for this year's beach cleanup at Selby Bay. We will at nine in the morning on Saturday, May 24, at the parking area behind the visitor center. Last year we started at the north end of the beach, but this year we will begin at the south end, where a storm in March left a large amount of wood and plastic. The walk from the parking area takes about ten minutes.
We will out gloves, bags, and tools when you arrive, so you do not need to bring them. Please wear long trousers and shoes that can get wet, and do not come in sandals. If you find glass, cans, or anything you are not sure about, please do not pick it up yourself. Instead, put one of the orange flags we give you next to it, and a trained member of our team will it later.
The event will be held even in light rain, but we will it if a storm is issued. In that , we will send an e-mail by seven in the morning, so please your messages before leaving home. After the cleanup, we will soup at the visitor center, and a from the city will give a short talk about what she has found in the sand. Everyone is to stay.
Best wishes,
Rachel Doyle
