: Invitation to our spring event
Dear Mr. Gale,
My name is Priya Raman, and I plan events at Corner Books in Ashford. I am writing to ask whether you would be willing to speak at our spring reading event. Your novel about the fishing village has been our best-selling for three months, and several customers have asked us whether you ever in . When we put a photograph of the in our shop window, we received more messages than we have ever received about a single title.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 12, in the hall above our shop, which holds about eighty people. We would like you to talk for around thirty minutes and then answer questions from the for another thirty. We can pay you $300 and your travel costs. Copies of your will be on sale after the talk, and we would be glad if you could sign them, though this is not required.
I understand that you may be busy with your next novel. If April 12 is not , we could also hold the event on May 10 or May 17. Could you let me know by February 15 which date suits you best, or whether you would rather not take part this time? Either answer is fine, and I hope we will be able to invite you again in the future.
,
Priya Raman
